FAQs
WHAT STYLE OF YOGA DO YOU TEACH?
1
I trained in the Apanaveda School of Yoga and hold this style at the heart of my classes. Taking time to focus on the breath, open space in posture for students to feel it intuitively and with correct alignment, so they understand how their body works and feel what is best for them. Further to this, my experience with Vinyasa and Scaravelli yoga influence my class structure. At the core of my classes is the key theme of grounding and the idea of nurturing your body. Whether the class is slow and strong or a more flowing dynamic style, there is always the intention for you to discover presents and feel embodied throughout.

Scaravelli inspired yoga is a gentle but strong style of yoga, moving with slow steady strenth. Similar to Hatha yoga but with its foundations in the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli and her principles of using gravity, the breath and an innate awareness of the spine that gives the body freedom to find postures and movements with harmony. Grounding in earth and working in tune with the bodies natural waves yoga asanas (postures) can then be found with ease and understanding.
What is vinyasa yoga?
9
Vinyasa yoga is a flowing style with breath lead movements. Often incorporating yoga asana flows such as sun salutations and flowing a ladder style class structure with progression to a ‘peak pose’. The breath-synchronised movement follows throughout the classes so that every posture is opened into or moved onto of in time with the breath. This creates ‘meditation in movement’ integrating the space created by the breath with the movements of posture to calm the mind.
